I’m Dr.Nirav Mehta to share that 2022 started with wonderful news — I finally completed my PhD in Optometry from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, india, gujarat, in the Faculty of Medicine, after five years of hard work.

My optometry journey began between 2003 and 2009, during which I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Initially, I focused solely on fulfilling professional expectations. However, as an introvert, I soon realized that I needed to muster courage and dedication to evolve, especially in teaching and presenting ideas. This journey has been a continuous process of self-learning and exploration beyond graduation.

Over 15 years, I worked to stabilize my career, personal life, and family. During this time, my connection with the divine grew stronger, which provided immense support in accomplishing various things. I earned different fellowship programs and received accolades such as the Optometry Educator and Best Optometrist of the Year awards.

My PhD research focused on glaucoma, with the topic titled: “Correlation and Analysis of Cup Disc Ratio, RNFL Thickness (OCT), and Perimetry Changes in Glaucoma Patients.” This journey was far from easy, but it brought immense satisfaction as I overcame multiple challenges.

In November 2016, I was the last person to clear the PhD entrance exam, barely scoring 100 out of 200. Clearing the entrance was only the first step. With limited seats, I then had to get my project proposal approved by the university committee, which came with its own set of hurdles.

Some major challenges I faced included:

  • A damaged OCT that delayed my work for a year until we received a new

  • Grasping ophthalmology concepts.

  • Navigating through statistical analysis.

  • Balancing writing, family life, work, and PhD commitments.

Despite all these obstacles, my PhD journey taught me invaluable lessons, offering a deeper understanding of life’s philosophy and spirituality. I was inspired by the process of continuous learning, which has strengthened me both academically and personally. I also discovered powerful productivity techniques that helped me balance everything.

Throughout this journey, what I have learned — and continue to learn — is the importance of staying humanly connected. Through this medium, I hope to share my experiences and the knowledge I’ve gathered on various skills, such as time management, calmness, and helping students achieve their learning goals. My goal is to foster a productive, goal-oriented environment for everyone, and from the professional field of eye care would share tips on how to manage eyes and vision in this journey.

Everyone has a destiny in life.

I am sharing my thoughts and insights I had never imagined to write so.

Now new journey starting in this platform I request all to be with me and i would like to share what i learned past few years and will be happy to learn from everyone.

I thank my divine god, my guru and all people whom i am connecting in this journey of life.
